We are excited to announce that PHILSA will be reviving the undergraduate philosophy journal (previously known as the ‘Prolegomena’) under the new name of ‘Hemlock’.

As a chance to get involved with philosophical writing, and to get publication credit in your undergraduate years, we strongly encourage you to submit a paper of philosophical nature to be considered for publication, and the guidelines for submission are given below.

Call For Papers

Hemlock is a student run academic philosophy journal. We accept undergraduate submissions in English from all universities.Submissions can be of any length, to a maximum of 25 pages, and should be double-spaced and have a complete list of citations in MLA, Chicago or APA style. We accept papers on any philosophically relevant topic. Papers should be well-written and demonstrate advanced
philosophical ability. We particularly invite submissions of papers developing original theses.

To submit a paper for consideration, please send the following to hemlock.journal@gmail.com:
1. A .doc copy of your paper
2. A .PDF copy of your paper
3. A separate document containing:
a. An abstract including the title of your paper
b. Your full name
c. Your institution
d. Your major(s) / specialization(s)

We do a blind-review process of papers to ensure the elimination of bias. Please remove any identifying information from the submitted paper. In addition, we accept papers on a rolling basis. The review process will begin, time permitting, upon submission of the paper. Notifications regarding acceptance will be sent out after completion of the review process.

If you have any questions, please contact the editors at hemlock.journal@gmail.com.
