On May 28–29th, UBC will host a two-day conference on Consent, Ethics, and Sexual Education. It will involve academic talks from scholars around the world, as well as a panel of youth sex educators. It will be an opportunity to connect scholarly philosophical work on consent and sexual ethics with the experience and perspectives of contemporary sex educators.
The event is free and open to the public. To register, please email the conference coordinator, Ash Lindsley-Kim.
This event is possible due to generous financial support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Society for Applied Philosophy, the Canadian Journal of Philosophy, the UBC Philosophy Department, and UBC’s Hampton Fund.
Featured speakers include Scott Anderson (UBC), Karamvir Chadha (Durham Law School), Audrey Yap (UVic), Elinor Mason (UC Santa Barbara), Emily Tilton (University of Southern California), Hallie Liberto (University of Maryland), and Jonathan Ichikawa (UBC), as well as Justin van Westen and youth sex educators from VCH’s BLUSH program.
