The Department of Philosophy invites applications for part-time sessional lectureships for the 2016 Winter Session, Terms 1 and 2, in the teaching of the following PHIL courses:
2016 Winter Term 1 (Sept – Dec 2016)
PHIL 102 002 Introduction to Philosophy II (3 credits)
PHIL 220 003 Symbolic Logic I (3 credits)
PHIL 349 002 Philosophy of Religion (3 credits)
PHIL 433 003 Biomedical Ethics (3 credits)
2016 Winter Term 2 (Jan – Apr 2017)
PHIL 320 Symbolic Logic II (3 credits)
PHIL 375 Philosophy and Literature (3 credits)
PHIL 385 Existentialism (3 credits)
PHIL 460 Philosophy of Science (3 credits)

A minimum of ABD or PhD in Philosophy is required and preference will be given to applicants with post-secondary teaching experience and a record that provides evidence of teaching effectiveness. Applicants from both inside and outside UBC are encouraged.
Applicants should include the following in their application package:
- A cover letter indicating clear relevance of expertise to the course
- A curriculum vitae that includes a record of experience and a detailed list of all post-secondary courses taught including name, length, credit value, and teaching responsibilities
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness
- Sample course outline(s)
- Confidential letters of reference from three referees
