Dear philosophy students,
Please join us on Tuesday, Sept. 5, between 2-4 p.m., for a welcome-back reception and light-hearted panel discussions of subjects of potential interest to philosophy undergraduate students.
You’ll have a chance to query some of our faculty (including the undergraduate majors advisor) who will be impaneled to discuss:
What is philosophy?
How can philosophy be “applied” to non-philosophical issues?
How can you get the most out of your philosophy courses/degree?
And all answers will be kept to 60 seconds or less!
We’ll also have a few brisk rounds of “Philosophers Against Humanity”
and possibly spontaneous debates on philosophical claims such as:
You have reason to do what’s right.
All knowledge is based in experience.
I am not a brain in a vat.
And there will be refreshments and free stuff!
Hope you can join us on Tuesday, September 5, between 2-4 p.m. in Buchanan D324 (the Philosophy Department seminar room).
