Can Philosophers do Field Work?

 

Come and find out!  Study Power and Oppression and Theories of Civil Society, on location in rural Guatemala, summer term One 2018!  Earn six credits of upperlevel Arts coursework (Philosophy 335, Sociology 430), while experiencing the impacts of poverty and globalization firsthand, through a UBC Global Seminar.  Open to majors and honours students in philosophy, sociology and closely related disciplines, this is your opportunity to complement social theory coursework with intensive experiential learning about the realities of a significantly poorer society. Eligible students will receive ARA funding to cover 70-100% of the programme fee and airfare.
